I probably should have written "Not for the players" in my post so you knew, but the general rule is that you can't read anything in spoiler tags unless someone writes "For bakekoq:" or something similar on it. You shouldn't read what's in your opponent's spoiler tags. |

it's really strange. I think, this malkovich game is opened so we can know what's our opponent trying for the next moves? so, what's the purpose for the spoiler if so? |

If it was open, there would be no need in hide tags, right? The purpose is that you play the game as usual, but explain your reasoning, get comments on it, and after the game you reread the topic, and the hide tags become an excellent review on the game That's how I see it. |

To me, the info in the spoiler tags are for game observers while the game is going on, for opponents after the game is over, and for the writer down the road as a retrospective. Plus, in a game against a much stronger opponent (such as mine against EdLee), I imagine the spoilers can function as a teaching tool. At least, I hope I'll be able to learn from his commentary on my good and bad moves in my game with him (though I do intend to ask him for specific feedback once our game's over). Anyhoo |
