It took a little digging, but I like this move. I also considered a-c, but in each of these cases, P15 was the move that gave black an advantage by splitting me into two groups. So I thought I might as well take that point for myself. The results look very flexible, and I can't find a result that looks bad for W.

His move is pretty good. I can't think of a local result I like if I play first, so I will tenuki. |

I really don't know what else to do. I considered the following moves. 'a' is clearly out of the question, but b-d are very complicated and depend a lot of B's choices. I decided to go with the symmetrical choice.

Still losing. I feel like I need to DO something to fix it. But that seems like it will make me further behind. For now, I'll just answer in an expected way. |

My first thought is to play like this. It is attractive because it weakens B's position on the top, But I don't think it is as good as it looks. L16 still has plenty of aji to exploit to make a good position somehow, and if that happens, what does White get? There is even the possibility of my top left group coming under attack. I might be able to play something like 'a' instead of 4 to weaken L16's aji.
This is also an option. It works fairly well with my position on the left side, but it looks a tad over concentrated, and give black a pretty good position on the top.

I'll take that deal. His position on the top is not bad, but there is aji there. Also, his left side stone is a little high and silly now.
Can't say I'm satisfied with this position, but I feel 1% better. |

Blocking on the top seems ineffective. This looks likes it helps my global position to prevent the left from becoming weak. |

I want to settle the situation here, and see how he will respond locally. Based on his response, I'll see about playing on the top or right. I'll see how he answers. |

This seems to be the vital spot. |

That wasn't one of the responses I considered. This seems to be the only possible move. I hope it turns out ok. |

I think he has the advantage in this local area, so maybe this is overplay. But I can't think of a way to get a good local result without overplaying. I guess he is playing better than me now. But if I make a fight, maybe I can turn the tables. |

This is really the only move. I wish I could play o14, but the ladder doesn't work.
afterwards maybe 4? I think if Black ignores or answers on the outside, I can kill the corner. I Don't end up connected , but it looks playable. |

Doesn't seem logical to continue with the cut, but maybe I benefit a little bit by the presence of the cutting stones. Even if I save the cutting stone, his group on top is strong, since 'a' and 'b' are miai:
So it's not really worth it to fight right now. That group is strong. I need to be patient for a little while longer. I'd say that I'm still losing this game, but I'm not that far behind. I'll try to gain some ground. |

I am planning for this. Black has a number of ways he cam play at this point, but, My top group is strong, and the cutting stone on the right still has plenty of room to find some sort of position.

I thought black would not play this way. It just seems a little easy for W, so I am pleased with this result. |

This might be greedy, but I don't think the corner can die, so why not? |
