Schachus: Good question, isn't it. The direct atari gives B a chance later to run 1 stone. Curious to know the preference from pros/AlphaGo. Mr. Kageyama said something related to this in his book... |

My previously announced plan was to run into the middle by playing F8:
But his most effective attacks always used F9. So I'm going to take it myself. Yes, it does allow him to push through, but I can then play F7, and it works because of his weaknesses at F6 and G5:
So one way or another, I get out. And I separate his two eyeless groups when I do. Just as an example, here is one amusing sequence from my analysis:
Black is connected. |

If he doesnt play such illogical moves he would be strong as Magicwand I think i can cut his group. I will post variations later. |

He presumably thinks that he is attacking. I think that he is playing aji-keshi. One of us has mis-read. |

Somebody has indeed mis-read. Either he will crush me in a few moves with a tesuji that I cannot imagine, or this is extensive aji-keshi. |

My opponent's last move seems small, and in the wrong direction. I think this is the proper direction of play. |

Not sure about direction, but does white aim for a future cut?

So the attack begins. MW has spent a lot preparing for this. I don't see how he will recoup his investment. I didn't have a chance to describe the reasons for my last move. I'll do so now. It seems a total tenuki at first - and it does improve my chances on the upper side - but it is loosely affecting the impending fight in the middle left. There are some sequences in which white can sacrifice his cutting stone at D5, and isolate my center stones:
Now if he wants to attack them, he has to create a weak new group of his own:

In my previous comment I mentioned this sequence:
It is my current favorite, but this is also possible:

Joaz hasn't considered the wedge. This will be interesting. |

One of the many lines that appears to work for me. I do hope that my analysis was correct. He is burning a lot of aji here. Once I do indeed get out, B11 becomes interesting. |
