Did you consider this, too? What would you have expected white to do?
It looks too dangerous. Can I do better? Going back with O12 makes the cut meaningless, doesn't it? |

@rlaalswo, is up to here fine?
I believe this sequence would have been better for Black.

@fevobod, still too early for me to judge anything
Probably the biggest move on board. Next I want to play K3, ...or maybe Q11 cut, whenever I take sente. |

It looks ugly, but white can cut anyway whatever I play. When white does cut the cutting stone will be most far away from other white stones. Black's group gets a pseudo-eye-shape. It also takes one liberty immediately from D9. |

White wants to secure both the bottom group and some center points, so plays for the following sequence.
If White plays the more common Q2, Black can first move out at O6 and later come back to R2, as needed. If Black responds to R2 with 06, White has a better corner followup or can transition to the corner more easily, which is preferable over the bottom that is already weak around K3.

This tesuji seems to work, since Black neglected to play O6 beforehand. Not sure what Black's plan is. |

I just have to be careful of some of the fighting after this...
For example, if Black tries to live with T3, White can play to take the corner with S3. However, after Black plays R11, an unfavorable ko appears when cutting with Q11...
Therefore, if White still wants to take the corner, then blocking Black R11 with S11 is necessary. However, after Black continues with Q11, White S12, this gives P9 more liberties, making the push and cut at M12, M11, L11 more effective (see below). Meaning that White may simply want to let the corner live and try to get a big and more solid center (which I think would be easy to do in this position).
Since I have not been playing this game out on a board, I have to be careful about missing a special tesuji or myoshu, especially if my opponent is, and choosing strategies and variations that lead to fairly simple or straightforward outcomes. |
