So, this game is interesting in that it is one where I am playing white against a handicap. I don't do that often, and as people have seen in my Malkovich games against Magicwand, usually I am on the receiving end of the beating.

I will make an effort to be inspired by Magicwand for this game, and play in a way that I feel he would play.

I don't know much about tj86430's style of play. I know I've heard him comment on things here in the forum before, but compared to some other forum members, I don't think that I know him as well.

Let's see how he plays for this game. I will see if I can terrorize him a little bit. It should be good practice.

Pretty standard, I think. Should he play around D10 (which I doubt), I will play Q10. My guess is that he'll play O3, in response to which I will consider pincering.

(For beginners.) B has made no mistakes so far -- all standard, good moves.

However, the joseki he 'would like to see' is for when c. K3 extension already exists. Perhaps he has a special strategy to pressure white when he plays the split.

Rather than going after the corner (a normal strategy) white jumps out and pressures the marked stone (especially with 'b' as part of an influence opening). I'm sure you know some popular variations. It is considered disadvantageous for white when the influence will be hard to use (vs black profit) and the fighting variations (ladders involved) do not favor white. (You can check kogo's yourself for variations).

I feel like Magicwand would jump out here, if he were playing against me. Taking points with 3-3 is nice, but it is too simple, I think. Magicwand would want to make the game more complicated.

I'm going to play the way that I think he would.

I don't know anything better. He believe will either counterpincer, after which we both run towards center, or make some sort of base with S4.

I am still trying to play like Magicwand. I want to force black to make a weak group. It might take some time to do this, though.
