This is an interesting corner sequence in itself. Then I removed the White stone. Without some outside aji, White will definitely get sealed in if lovelove tries to jump into the corner immediately, giving me some nice outside aji.

I considered using D6 instead of C6, too. Maybe some other time.

I promised myself that I'd try to play basic moves that made sense instead of trying to be clever. I didn't realize how hard that would be for me. My first instinct was to try and keep both my stones in this corner "connected" with C4. They aren't really connected though, and I shouldn't try to force them to be. If I try to force what I want, lovelove gets to complicate things. Keeping it simple, I expect something more along the lines of the following:

At one point I knew a few joseki from studying (though I admit my studying is very poor). From that study time so long ago, I believe the more typical response would have been at S15. White gets to spread his stones out a little more in that set of variations, though. I want White to crowd his stones together wherever possible. The result I'd like:

Q9 works well to reduce the potential of the white wall, I think, and it has support from R6 so it's not as weak as it could be.

I expect that White would then try to make some space with a play around 'a'.

I have no time playing the UR corner joseki. Trying to mix up the stones so there can naturally be a big fight.
