Playing atari at (a) or (b) doesn't seem like a good idea as it pushes black into one my groups giving him good continuation moves against it. I feel it is important to help my three stones on the right as they have less shape then the bottom one. Naturally (c) is the shape move, but it feels slow, so I think is a good compromise between safety and speed.
But I've gotta deviate from that. If I try to quantify the difference in position, I'd say that white is about 15 points ahead right now. Maybe a little more.
He's got influence up the wazoo, my cutting stone is pretty useless here, and if things go at this rate, I'll be resigning quickly.
So I need something to kind of counter his influence. I'm maybe 20 points behind, but I've gotta stay calm. I want to play a move with influence.
I want to wait for him to make a mistake. I already feel sour about this. It's no fun being 30 points behind. But if I go in aggressively and try to get more points, he could easily increase his lead.
He has influence, so he could turn his advantage into real, irreversible profit.
So I must be calm. Hopefully he makes a mistake. If we play several more moves, he'll make a mistake, right? I hope I can catch it.

Kirby's position is getting worse by the minute!

W(abc) seems playable as it's similar to the chinese variation with a stone at , but I felt like this would probably be following black's plan and rejected it. Now, I imagine black will slide at (a). His shape will be a bit thin.
Interesting move by mw42. I really don't know how to respond. As such, this post is kind of useless. I thought I'd indicate that I'd seen the move, at least, however.
