Thank you for your comments. Globally, i think that black had more occasions than white of taking the game to his advantage. It seems my way of playing white was perhaps too slow or too gentle like the upper invasion that lead to a far better result for black (that i agree). |

Not to pick nits, but.. move 176 gives up a point (a prisoner) for no real effect. Even if black continues play in that area, they have to capture the h9 stone before gaining a point for g8. In fact, if, for instance, you play elsewhere, and they play an atari on your one stone, you can play f7, forcing a gote seal. That's one point out of 1.5, if they miscount, and capture g9 instead of seal, they lose another point. It might not have won the game, but it's certainly making it closer. Similar note at 190, I think, though I'm trying to find a refutation, that j10 is no less sente than h11, and reduces black by a point, though I'm not sure that having to play h11 as gote is worth it in the long run, and reading more than 10 moves, even in the endgame, to figure it out is probably more than I would have done too. A close game like this, yes, could be played better early on, but you don't have to give up free points in yose just to let the opponent win. 176 at least, is free points. |

I agree with you on both remarks. For 176, i guess i was having an hallucination for doing something like this ^^! and j10 is still better than what was played. Thanks for the remark. |
