Hello! I'm new here, so I hope this is a reasonable post, in the right place, etc.

I play some on KGS as LRB, but mostly I play with my son and against iGoWin Pro on my iPhone. iGoWin rates me around 13K on 9x9 games, for whatever that's worth. Attached is a game I won, but in which I made some typical (for me) moves that I suspect are all wrong.

Any comments or feedback would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums. To be honest, I don't think you can get too much benefit from comments on a 9x9 game with a computer.

That said, one take-away for you: White 6 is called a "diagonal jump" or "elephant jump." It is not always a bad move, but it often is a bad idea. Before making such a move, you must have a plan for dealing with the cut.

Welcome to Go and L19! A few notes:

Thanks for the feedback, Ed! That was exactly what i needed and more.

I questioned move 32 because black at 34 would put me in double atari, but now it looks like I was running away from a mouse.

Move 52 probably falls under the heading of "bad habits you get from playing the computer." I knew it wasn't necessary, but wasn't so sure iGoWin knew it, One of my nasty beginner habits is passing up "unnecessary" moves and then suffering a big invasion.

Your variations around move 7 were especially helpful. I try too hard to save all my stones, make too many contact plays, etc., and end up getting cut to ribbons.

Thanks!
