Lost this by 1.5 points, so I must have done something right, but I'm not sure what.
I never feel comfortable playing against sanrensei, hence the unconventional move here.
My opponent requested black, so he must have wanted to play it.

6: I know why you played this, but it isn't obviously that good to me. A strong player will have fun trying to play in such a way that this move becomes completely worthless. This move might (theoretically) appear as a reduction once white has made black's corners strong, but by playing it first black can try to avoid a situation where this reduction would be a good move. Just O3 is fine and normal, or moves like K4.

8: I don't like the high approach here, it gives up a lot of corner. The high approach is usually bad unless you have a very good reason for it, but bad on a level that is hard to see (and, perhaps, not worth worrying about). The way I see it, it's an eggs-in-one-basket move, making a fighty moyo sort of shape on the side. This is a way to win games, but it doesn't work once you get opponents who see the basket early enough.

12: I don't really like this move, it leaves you side open to a black splitting move that gives O4 no base. I'm not sure what is best, but perhaps you should take the corner now? Whichever way black blocks, the P6 stone is misplaced and unimportant, as all it can do is capture the single O4 stone (which is pretty boring).

14: Now you have a funny cramped shape with no eyes, and black can pull K4 out without a problem. This is why I think it is awkward to try to develop with N6, it is sticking too strongly to the 'develop the side' plan, when black is making it such that you can't do this in good shape.

24: Seems like a strong fighty move, but rather risky due to the M7 push and cut. N8 seems safer.

28: Doesn't seem like a tremendously valuable move, even if it helps your eyeshape a bit. I would like to fix the M7 cut, though the obvious moves like O8 are painful as the induce black to defend his side.

34: Ooooohhh, soo many cuts for black to take. Would you have been happy for black to play N7 etc. now?

36: This doesn't really connect at all, but black doesn't cut, which lets you off. The only way to improve this position is to not get into it in the first place, I think.

38: Another high approach...I guess you were aiming to make a group that could connect to the centre? But by doing so, again you give up points i nthe corner, and the centre group isn't making territory at all. You can't win playing like that.

44: Again, inducing black to make side territory. Maybe now is a good time to play C8 or similar, you have to attack something or you will lose.

84: Cor, gaining a nice profit here, I think.

At this point L18, L16 or similar are all strong moves that are sente, even if they don't kill.

86: Whilst you probably have to fix your cut, you must see that this gives black many many points. Perhaps O8 instead, to claim you make miai of Q8 and R3.

Concerning L10: this move seems premature to me, but if you are going to play it you should look to invading san-san immediately, I think. That way if B blocks on the right you already have a reduction move for his moyo in place. I'm not saying that's the best way to play, but it at least agrees with L10, in my opinion. However, you go for a high-approach (instead of a low-approach, pincer, san-san strategy) which seems like you are trying to make center territory at move 7, which is bad.

For move 162, stop and think. He's played a dumb move, but you let him partly off the hook. If you play D12 or D11, you would win the game.

Edit: At first, I had confused which color you were.

Thank you all! I guess I should play more conservatively against these openings, and especially play more solid.

The LL corner position after the invasion joseki is alive with territory, but it is worth knowing how to counter various attacks, and how possible continuations affect the status. For example, can W hane on either side in sente? After B played the hane and connection, which loses liberties, has the status changed? Hint: the W descent at move 228 handed B a gift here.

Just out of curiosity, why not kill the white shape on the middle left side at move 152, before they make seki?

Mitsun, my reasoning on that move was to try and keep sente. Does C1 work afterwards? I missed that.

chef, I simply didn't see it during the game, only when Dusk Eagle pointed it out.
