Hi everyone! This is a game I've played recently against my PC (the most difficult level possible). Would you be so kind to comment on it? (I'd be deeply grateful if you could also point it out where White could have done better (as far as I know humankind is still unbeatable by machines in this area ![]() Thanks. |

43 looks like a useless -1 pt move to me. I don't know against which program you played, but the strongest 9x9 AIs are at a pro level. Pros have lost some (even) showmatches on 9x9 already. |

I recommend contemplating the concept of influence. On a small board, one or two stones can make a huge difference.` Have a look at http://senseis.xmp.net/?Influence, and its sub-pages, then look at your game again. |

I often find it hard to comment 9x9 games because, as we discussed in a different thread, it's a whole-board strategic struggle in a much more immediate sense than 19x19 games. It's very hard to make sense of "influence". |

I look at the board around move 8 to move 12, intuitively it feels like white has a lot of power on 2/3 of the board. Heck, even the exchange of 4 for 5 feels bad for black. But it is just how it feels. |
