This is how most of my games go since I've dropped a rank on kgs :-)
I play some bad moves in the opening which leads to some fighting.
I make up for the problems by fighting ok in the midgame.
Then I get to endgame and screw up.

I'm trying to find out why I've dropped and trying to get back obviously but I keep on loosing.
I think my reading and direction are ok but I guess maybe that is just an illusion.

Let me know what you think that I'm doing wrong.

I have also included a second game (the previous one) so maybe you can see a pattern...

Thanks!
Otenki

A quick word to the wise: Don't be greedy. :)

Your games remind me of how I used to play. You grab a bunch of cash then go on looking for something to attack. Like Bill said, it's a greedy plan.

My general advice is to definitely abandon those 2nd line moves + star point joseki and also to think a bit more globally in the middle game.

Speaking for myself, I know that it's good to play near weak groups and keep things unsettled but playing with this goal in mind can cause tunnel vision. It can feel good to be on the attack all game, but try to determine if the board calls for an attack or just a way to settle the position favorably.

Review (probably) forthcoming.
