I can't find it on the Apple's AppStore, do anyone know why it was pulled back?

There's an update out for the app. Maybe you tried during the shift from the old version to the latest one.

It is possible, but this shift was a few days long. Already downloaded an update - bugs fixed but still no game archive.

The app is looking nice on the iPad. Played my first game: My opponent was not making his move and suddenly I realized that my own clock was running down. When I placed a stone, my opponent's move was also appearing. This happended twice in the game!

Will play on IGS until this bug is fixed ...

I had the problem of stones not appearing once - maybe a week or so ago to. The problem went away quickly and I haven't seen it again.

Still loving the Tygem app, but I agree that the inability to download (or even review) past games is a very painful.

@norman
You can use destop PC app to download games. Not the best solution (especially while you are on the go) - but it is available at least.

That assumes "you can use the desktop PC app", which is sadly not the case for me.

You can do this for Tygem games that you played on an iPad? I've been trying to do it, but it doesn't seem to work. The Tygem PC app can see the games that I play on iPad (in addition to games I played on the PC), and can view them. There's a menu when viewing the game to allow me to save the game. But when I select this menu item, nothing happens. Does this work for you? Or is there some other way that I've missed?

game you save via Tygem client for Windows (XP) is in:
C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Local Settings\Temp\TygemGlobal

the game is saved as "download#.gib" file. I open these files in moyogo studio, then save as sgf. don't know which other software open this file format. Sometimes there is an issue with inverted colours (white first) especially if there were any moves played after pass, strange.

Yes, that works fine for games played on my PC. But for games played on my iPad, I can't get them to save. The PC client can see the games on the server, and can view them, but when I tell the PC client to save a game that was originally played on the iPad, it doesn't do anything and the game doesn't show up in the above folder.

Has anyone else had this problem? For me, this is a show-stopper for playing Tygem games on my iPad, because I really like having a record of my games saved to my PC.

@EricBackus
I play on Tygem via iPad only and I download my games this way I described. There shouldn't be any difference if game was played on PC or tablet - I don't know what can be a reason that your iPad games does not save there, but I remember that before an update of my Pc Tygem client it was saving my games each time with the same filename so after I downloaded one game I needed to move it to another folder and check it if this is game I wanted, before trying to download another. Try to update Tygem app on your PC, if not possible, well, I'm out of ideas then.

Ah, thanks lobotommy. Knowing that it works for you helped give me confidence to keep looking for a solution. Now that I've got this working, I wanted to document it here for anyone else facing similar problems.

Part of my problem was Windows 7 and permissions. My usual login is not an Administrator account, and I found that the Tygem PC program didn't work unless it is run as Administrator. So, I select "Run as administrator" when running the Tygem program.

I noticed that games played on the PC end up auto-saved to C:\Program Files (x86)\TygemGlobal\Games. I assumed that games saved manually would also end up there, but they don't. They end up in C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Temp\TygemGlobal. And I didn't realize that the [user name] is the name of the Administrator account, not my own. Now that I know all that, I can find the games that I save. I do have the issue where it uses the same filename over and over, so I have to copy it out of the way each time, but I can deal with that.

Now my next problem is converting to gib to sgf. I wrote a perl script to do this, and it works with my auto-saved games, but it fails on the manually downloaded files. I think there are variations of the gib format depending on a language setting, which I'm now trying to figure out.

care to share?

I found this site: http://sowhat.ifdef.jp/SGF/gib2SGF.html
which is pretty good, but I'd rather have something I can do offline.

Below the "output" box there's a link where you can download the Ruby script.

Marcel

ah, good point... now if I only wanted to install Ruby on my computer :)

edit: holy crap! its already on my computer. This'll be much easier now. thanks!

I have a working perl script now. You can find it at http://alum.mit.edu/www/eric_backus/. I also have a perl script for converting WBaduk ngf files. Please let me know if you run into any problems with these.
