Are you a developer? Do you have Drupal, C++, PHP, AJAX/JS, CSS/HTML, or any other Web based coding experience?

If so, the ASR could really use your help! We've got really exciting plans for improving the ASR, but we need help to make them a reality.

The project will offer some really exciting ways to reward ASR participants for doing the things they love anyway: playing, teaching, and studying go!

If you think you might be interested, and would like to know more, drop Andrew a line at ajikeshi@gmail.com, or message one of the admins in the ASR itself.

Well, I think that people would be more willing to reply if they knew what the project was. I'm guessing some of it it has to do with making a better web site?

Fair enough!

We're doing a number of things, but not least of which is upgrading the website and adding some social networking features. We also want to improve the script the League uses. We have some really elaborate longer term things planned, but for the short term improving the website is our main focus. We also have some exciting plans to change the way the league uses points.

I may be able to help with web design. Or anything else you may be doing. But what exactually are you planing on doing for the site? Things like:
your own site?
Making it look more professional?
Better league graphs?

What were you planning?

Please put the project up on gitweb or somesuch so folks can read and/or submit patches to the code.

this project has been put a bit on hold for the last few months due to a break from me and andrew getting a ton of work on his head.

so i've been doing drupal tutorials the last few days and so far they're awesome. If you'd like to learn drupal too and want to see the vids send me a pm, it's about 15 hours worth of everything drupal related, send me a pm here or via KGS.

I've been working on it a day now (covering 4 hours of vids) and i made a pretty good start already, the learning curve is steep but once you know how to work with drupal it's pretty easy.

Andrew and I will hopefully get to work on the project again in august:)

Resurrecting this thread, since I see that the new site is a Rails project. Do you still need help?

My brief bio:
* Go player from Minneapolis, MN.
* 9 years in the Java / enterprise world
* 4+ years with Ruby and/or Rails

I help people here: http://stackoverflow.com/users/9465/jdl

I don't do art or graphic design. My latest projects have been mainly web services using Ruby. Big API's that pump out tons of data, such as this one, as well as some other more traditional commercial sites.

I'd be happy to discuss this more over email or Skype. Reply here or PM me if you think I can be of some use.

Thanks,
-- James / Bray
