For kyu players on kaya.gs, as discussed shortly ago in the Main chat room on kaya:

To take place after the xmas holidays, Fischer 30/20 time controls, unrated, 19x19, Japanese scoring.

If enough people sign on, might break it into DDK & SDK groups.

If interested, can mention it here. If *really* interested, come to kaya and play some games.

As kaya's user base is international, my inclination is to have open scheduling spanning several days to include a full non-holiday weekend.

It didn't take long to land several players. More detail here: http://dft.ba/-kaya-ddk-tourney

where is the signup?

It's pretty informal. People have been just telling me in kaya chat that they want in, and depending on their kaya rank they fall into one of the groups.

I'd like to join. I'm 3-kyu, so SDK obviously. Thanks!

Done. You can contact your opponents and start scheduling matches whenever is mutually convenient.

Oh, this seems cool! Can I sign up for the DDK section, if spots still remain?

In a week's time, enough people have signed up that we had to break it into DDK and SDK brackets, and allow the entire month of Jan for people to have enough time to get in all their games.

Feedback from players during the process will heavily influence subsequent tournament efforts. Can't wait to see it all happen! :)

I need to be pulled out of this tournament. I am much busier than I expected, sorry.

The competition for January is half over, I'm afraid. But if there's enough interest, another can be arranged for February.
