Ok, folks, registration is closed, and the first round pairings will follow in the next post. Prior to that, I'd like to thank Araban, jts, Redundant, tj86430, and Herman Hiddema for suggestions, double-checking, and supplying miscellaneous info when needed. ( and whoever else I forgot ) What happens next: later in this post is a list of players, KGS name first, then L19 name in parenthesis. I'll post pairings in this thread. ( If I get really ambitious I may PM you too, but don't count on it ) When you get your pairing, contact your opponent and arrange a game on KGS. As soon as you have an appointment, post time and date and room in this thread. When the game is over, the winner should post the result with an SGF in this thread. ( If I don't see an SGF in this thread, it never happened and you don't get credit for the win. ) If you have problems arranging a game, or have a disputed result, PM me. Style: Double elimination Rules: AGA ( others by mutual agreement ) Komi: 7.5 Colors: Player closer to the top of the list gets white. Venue: KGS L19 room. ( other rooms by mutual agreement ) Undos: Asking is ok for slip of mouse, not of mind. Granting a request is not required. Main time: 40 minutes ( may get longer in later rounds. Poll pending. ) Overtime: 10 stones in 5 minutes Canadian. ( 5 x 0:40 Japanese Byo-yomi by mutual agreement. ) SchedulingPlease try to play your game within a week of pairing postings. I generally expect that we will be able to do a round every 10 to 14 days - although I hope that we might be able to go a bit faster. Things may get a bit slow in the first week of August as we have congresses on two continents. I may be out of touch a bit when I am on vacation August 10th to 22nd. To coordinate different timezones, see http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ ( Thanks, Phelan ) ========================================================================================= Pairing info is here: ( hidden only to minimize post size ) ==================================================================================================== The list of players is here: ( hidden only to minimize post size ) |

Araban wrote: http://ywchoe.com/L19.html Would it be better to take Kodomo or venkman and take DuskEagle or Laman and swap them for 1d's in the bottom half of the table? The way it is set up now, if all went according to grade, in round 5 all the 3d's and 2d would play each other in the top half of the table while four 1d's played amongst themselves in the bottom. |

Like Psychee kind-of said, komi is usually 7.5 under AGA rules. Are you intentionally changing that, or did you just forget? |

Thanks for catching that. Yes, when I wrote in the pairing info that a group plays each other, I intended 1vs5, 2vs6, 3vs7, 4vs8. @Araban: can you change that? ( BTW, the same issue will arise in round 6 of the lower bracket ) |

Wasn't aphi 4k is the previous list? Looks a bit strange that he's now below me in the list. |

I thought it was common knowledge that Aphelion was L19's 1k 5k... ![]() |

Round 1: Tofu beat ChradH by resignation in a very tough and competitive game. |

Always take points that both weak groups want, if you can! (I hadn't looked through the entire game.) |
