Thank you Aidoneus,
Read the article. Very good, very informative.
I am not familiar with this subject, but it seems to be a very well researched article.
Good read, I recommend it to others.

The more I learn about environmental issues, the more I think we should care about it better.

Be careful of your sources. If you're worried about your health, consult your doctor.

So you trust an anonymous website over a doctor that cites their references?

Edit: Also, why would you talk to your physician about possible effects of environmental pollutants? Do you think that this is something a typical practitioner is trained to discuss? Furthermore, I know of absolutely no college professor who will accept wikipedia as a final reference for anything. For your amusement: http://thecolbertreport.cc.com/videos/z ... -wikiality

Posting references is one requirement for any reliable information whether in wikipedia or another website. Shrewd reader would then find the source of the claim and using the skills learned on university-level education on a relevant field, judge whether the research is reliable. I'm not competent enough to say anything about possible correlation between pesticides and mental impairment. Someone else has to do it for me. This is where choosing sources comes into play.

What makes a good source? It's hard to say, but a bad source is someone who has other interests except telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. For-profit organizations and websites getting money for hyperlink clicks quickly learn that some headlines gather more clicks than others. A threat that sounds plausible, urgent but yet vague enough to not fall into fallibility range makes very clickable headline.
