So, I'm a fairly avid if mediocre gamer. Today marks the release of two games that I've got, but sitting here at work, haven't gotten to play yet. I'll be picking up MK in about 5 hours, and Portal 2 will be waiting for me when I get home. Now, I'm aware that fighting games aren't exactly high strategy, but if any of you are on XBox Live, and looking for a sparring partner, I'd love some people to play with (I'm not good enough for competition level play, but I'm apparently good enough that my local friends don't like to play fighting games with me. Which is the story of my gaming career.) On the other end of the board, Portal 2 has a co-op campaign, and while I have friends who will likely play through it with me, I'd love to have more people to shoot through portals. So, if you're interested in either of these games, drop me an IM and we can exchange XBL/Steam IDs. (I play Portal on PC, and fighting games on my Xbox.) |

I'll definitely be getting both those games... in months, when the price is down. |

I got Portal 2, it's pretty good fun although it's pretty sad how stupid some of the puzzles make me feel sometime, I feel like if I spend more than 10 minutes on it I'm a total failure. I think I'm about halfway done with about 3 hours in; my Steam ID is SolC. |

I have no idea if Mortal Kombat is like that though. I'm planning on getting Portal 2 I think. Something just strikes me as weird about Portal co-op though. I mean, it makes perfect sense what with the necessity of every portal being double (an entrance and an exit) but it doesn't seem like a game I'd want to play co-op. Anyone played it? How has it gone? |

I dunno about all fighting games, but Smash Bros Melee, Street Fighter, and guilty gear are all hailed as pretty complex, deep games. |

How has it gone? In the coop game, you each get a portal gun with the capability to shoot 2 portals. Each player's portals are discreet, meaning blue's portals are connected to blue's portals, orange's portals are connected to by oranges portals. And you have to work together. For instance, my roomate and I were on a level where you must allow your teamate to go ahead, and then he has to put out a portal for you to fall into, and an exit portal to catapult you up onto a ledge. Of course, you can do fun things like, change the destination portal while they're falling so that rather than shooting out and flying up to the ledge, they're hurtled off sideways into a water filled pit, but who would do such a thing? You Monster. The Co-Op is great fun, and my roomate and I were laughing our heads off last night, as we accidentally on purpose messed with each other. |
