Hello friends (if you don’t like being addressed as “friend”, imagine whatever you’d prefer :-) ),

I don’t know how many of you are into meditation, or how many have tinnitus, or how many are hard of hearing (for me the latter two are very true, and the first is somewhat true) … but a friend of mine who knows all this about me pointed me towards myNoise.net and its wonderful “Noise Machines”, and since then I’ve had “Indian Drones” and “Tibetan Meditation” running in the background for HOURS, and I perceive these as being very supportive for my peace of mind, and therefore I want to share it with youze :-)

Currently I’m using this setting.

Maybe you’ll find this to be a good ambient sound for playing Go as well, there are SO MANY settings, I also like the different wind and water sounds.

Enjoy :-)

Tom

Interesting stuff. In a somewhat related note, perhaps people will enjoy musicforprogramming it is more varied, and there are sometimes limited vocals or more traditional music, but a good ten minutes of this would be right at home in those mixes.

Hah. I kept seeing this as Sound Advice (Good Advice).

As someone with tinnitus, this is much better than sleeping with white noise playing :]

Ick. I suppose it's cheaper than paying someone to blast a vuvuzela near my ear and would have exactly the same effect. I just like quiet. To each his own, I guess...

Wanna guess why I wrote it that way? ;-)

You don’t then have tinnitus, I guess? Stuff like this really is a gift for people like me who wake up with a ringing in the ears and who go to bed with the same ringing.

True. I was ignorant how effective it can be as a therapy until you posted this, so thanks for calling me on it. I know mostly people with HL but not tinnitus, but it is good to be aware of it. Sorry if my post seemed insensitive.

I'm more worried by you knowing the hourly rate of professional vuvuzela players.
