The developer just informed me that the above problem has been fixed in the latest version. You can download it from Google app store. It is indeed a problem with a third-party library which, I understand, has been replaced.

It looks like to get this through, I needed to install the app, ignore the Lookout warning (which is still happening), then install the in-app update for GoLinks, then rescan.

This is connected to this electronic go board (https://detail.youzan.com/show/goods?al ... oupmessage), right?

If so, I have a couple questions. Is there a web page with specs and ordering details in English for the board? Is it only integrated with an Android app? Will an iOS version of the app be available soon?

Please could you tell us which functionalities you have to pay for?

Besides this, can I use this app if I am in China? (The one in English)

Thanks

Hi Macelee,

Thanks for sharing the information!

One question, are you somehow working at GoLinks/YiKe?

Yes, the electronic go board has been designed by the same company. You can control the hardware via the app on your mobile phone while both are connected to your home Wifi.

I am not aware of a website describing the board in English.

There is an IOS version of the app too:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/%E5%BC% ... 82022?mt=8

Unfortunately that is not translated into English. I can sort of understand the decision - I got involved in the translation project for the Android app and it's by far the most complex translation project I've seen.

Thanks, I downloaded the iOS app and will try to figure out how to use it.

I am very tempted by the board, which I would like to take to a club if it can be used to automatically record games played on it. Unfortunately, I cannot understand Chinese, and using Google translation on the web site seems pretty garbled.

You can use the app in China - it is a universal app.

There is an e-currency called 'beans' in this app. You are giving a small amount of beans for free and you can purchase additional beans using real money. Then these beans can be spent on advanced functionalities, mainly AI related. For example you can get so-called hawk-eye report analysing professional games (effectively using ELF analysing games on very high-spec hardware, generating all kinds of useful statistics); you can have positional judgement while watching a game (you get 10 free chances per day after that you can pay for additional); you can play against AI players with all strength from beginner to pro level (you pay more to play stronger AI); when going through the L&D library in the app (~3000 problems), you can spent beans to get hint.

Thank you for your detailed answer.
I am currently in China with an Android so I have problem to access Google store. Is there other way to download the app?
Thanks for your time answering.

In China the Google store is not the primary source to get Android apps. There are many other stores - I don't know which to trust. You can get this app from it official website http://www.yikeweiqi.com/app/ and the direct link is http://cdn.yikeweiqi.com/resource/andro ... eweiqi.apk

You will probably need to change some settings to allow apk files to install.

I will try thanks. To be sure, these links will propose me to download the English app, not a Chinese one? Sorry for my many questions

As I said this is a universal app and you can switch language from its settings. I am not sure about the default language - if I were the developer I would check the language of the phone and set a suitable default.

I used direct link, just accepted a warning about "apk may harm", then open and awesome it's in English.

Thank you

One day later I still didn't play one game, I am a bit disappointed.

Many pop up are still in Chinese it's still far away to be universal.

I did give more info in my profile as what other players do (I can watch games) but each time I try to play I get that "still under review pop up.

Any help?

If you PM me your login name, I will help you get approval quickly. This platform enforces certain rules: people are encouraged to use their real names to cultivate a more friendly community. Certain usernames, those apparently meaningless, offensive or similar, are rejected. This is a manual process. This might sound crazy, but I think it is not a bad idea in long run. Don't worry - these guys are serious about protecting personal information - I actually helped them review some GDPR compliance topics a while ago.

Same username as here

To be "universal" it would be great to translate the pop ups, especially the one asking me an answer.
I don't get the under review pop up anymore thanks, but when clicking on the "ready to play" tab one in chinese pops up with a choice to do. What choice? I am afraid to use luck because I don't want to go all a process again... I think something like that did happen to me before.

If I do care more on these pop-ups, it's because they use pics for text, so I can't get help from external translation tools.

I try the game settings tab, all is in Chinese there.

In a more general way, it's great when I can select anything in Chinese and then I can translate it.
I went to watch game again, as I can't yet play. There I can't select all these commentaries in Chinese to translate them.
Wechat app is very well designed for example on this side. Anything in Chinese (pics put aside OC) can be translated just by clicking on it, inside the app.

I m still motivated to answer your invitation and go there play games... As soon as possible!

Thank you

I had this pop up when clicking on the ready to play blue bottom (at the bottom of the screenshot)

Now I discovered I can click on the middle of the screen, I got a pop-up in English this time (!) telling me I was not verified then I did what they ask me again and now I am again... In review!
