Call for Experienced Go Teachers as Interview Participants: Applications accepted by 2023-11-17

We are conducting a study on behalf of the Korea Baduk Federation titled ‘Exploration of Small Go Boards for Teaching Go Beginners.’ We plan to conduct interviews with Go teachers who taught Go to beginners using small boards, such as 7x7, 9x9, or 13x13. We appreciate your interest in participating in this research to improve Go education methods.

Participants: Go teachers with over 10 years of teaching experience, including at least 1 year using small Go boards.

Participants: 10

Interviewers: Dr. Daniela Trinks (Associate Professor at the Department of Baduk Studies at Myongji University in South Korea) and Oh Chi Min (Independent Researcher)

Interview Schedule: Between November 18th (Saturday) and December 8th (Friday), participants will choose a day and time for the interview through mutual agreement.

Duration: 30 minutes to 1 hour

Compensation: In appreciation for the participant’s time, each participant will receive an interview participation fee of KRW 120,000 (approximately EUR 92, USD 90), with any applicable bank transfer fees deducted.

Interview method: Online (Zoom)

Confidentiality and Privacy: Your participation is confidential, and all information will be anonymized. Your privacy is of utmost importance to us, and we adhere to strict ethical guidelines.

Additional Information:

If there are a large number of applicants, not all may be selected for interviews. We kindly ask for the active participation of experienced teachers who have taught beginners with small Go boards. Please also help spread the word in your community.
