Before writing this I did a quick check in the GoGoD database of how many games the onadare joseki appeared and I found 1250 (Summer edition; there will be a few more in the Winter edition which will have over 74,000 games in total). We have found an early analysis of a now popular version of the onadare by Fujisawa Hideyuki, Kajiwara Takeo and Yamabe Toshiro (the Three Crows), which involved Go Seigen's new move in 1957 and we present a translation on the NewInGo page of the GoGoD website. Just follow the link below.

Best wishes.

I just read the whole thing, and while I do appreciate the glimpse into how pros discuss new moves, I'll admit that after all the back and forth about the intricacies of the avalanche, the point most vividly stuck in my mind is that there was a Japanese 9p who caught vipers barehanded...I want to go study his games so I can learn to catch vipers barehanded...
