hi ,

I was introduced to Go when I read the Hikaru no go comics but never really got into it. I read some books on it and played abit on yahoo games. Recently started playing again and found this forum. I just started playing on KGS and so far my rank is 9k. This week I got the iphone app crazy stone and I have been playing that. I play again against the vEnglish server game and the computer has been kicking my ass at lvl 9,lol. I tried it on lvl 10 and couldnt get past 100 moves, lol. Do you guys think this is a good way to get stronger. I feel like every game against the computer, I am constantly being chased around the entire board and fighting.lol.
Look forward to learning from everyone.

Oh is there a website where I can look at all the different variations of Joseki. I found http://eidogo.com/ but I play against computer Bot, it would make many weird moves and the variation is not on there.

Welcome to the boards!

I would encourage you not to play computers too much. Have you tried the automatch feature on KGS? It's an easy way to play humans your own level. As you say, a lot of the weaker computers play very strangely, and that can encourage you to hope for mistakes, which is anathema to good go.

I play against a computer all the time when commuting or while waiting in a doctor's office or something. But I would encourage you to play real people just to get over the hurdle. And it is more fun :).

www.dailyjoseki.com is another place to go for joseki variations. But the computer will often stray from them, and (in my opinion) it is best to try to read things out on your own at first and then look up the joseki later.
