first game in months

well i've been banned for awhile now on kgs for my previous language and attitude. but last night i snuck this game in late at night when bigdoug wasnt online to kick me off. the bottom left turned into a disaster for me which was obvious. it went from a seemingly fine game to instantly a horrible loss. but i'm mostly interested in the fuseki, bigger moves that i missed. any advice is appreciated. i was white. i think i just need g5 on move 64 and i'd be happy

I only have a few minutes to look, so I'll just comment on the first thing that I see.

Move 16 at F16 seems slack. You can't get both sides of that corner unless he lets you, so it may be best to leave them as miai.
There are some more productive plays, IMO, such as undercutting him with M17, or neutralizing the influence of the shimari with R7 or R8. ( If you don't, R9 by him is big. )
If you must play in the upper left, even G17 looks better.

To the game, 16 was the first move that got my attention. Seems problematic because it doesn't make territory and it doesn't put any pressure on your opponent. I would have like to approach at R8 which is bigger than it looks because both players want to play there. The next thing I saw was 41, where I would have preferred to support the eyeless group on the left. Maybe E9? That group getting weak was part of the reason your bottom left got in trouble.

I had another chance to look.

Move 34: Probably too far.
You may be able to get away with the 3-space extension at R7, because your right side group is moderately strong vs the black upper right corner.
But your lower left group is weak when compared with his lower left group, and the invasion at H3 can hurt. If he plays it, and you defend K3, then he scoops out your eye space with D2. ( D2, C2, E3, E4, F2 and he is connected out )
Also R7 approaches within two spaces of an enemy stone; K3 within one space.

36: D11 is looking a little weak. It might be better to play someting like D9 or D8 or C10.

42: D11 is definitely too weak. You need something like B14 or E8 or H12 now. ( But O15 is locally a good move )

58: You don't have time for this. Have you considered what happens to your long eyeless group if he plays L10?

59: He doesn't see it. I think that you dodged a bullet here.

62: This is aji keshi. Save it for a ko threat.
You own C5 in the endgame. It is about 15 point sente for you, 1 or 2 point gote for him. You will have half a dozen opportunities to play it before he has one.
This is an important concept to learn.

76: Good move.

78: Huh? This undoes 76. You could have connected K7 to the corner group.
Now you have two eyeless group in the middle of the board.

82: What do these stones do for you? It would probably be best to abandon them, and invest your move elsewhere with a group that shows a better return.

Overall, not a bad game for 10K. :clap:
