Snatching Victory from the Jaws of Defeat!

Post by emeraldemon »

Actually my opponent blundered in yose, but I'll take what I can get. As happens often in my games, I fell behind early, managed to make it somewhat close in midgame, and then my opponent made an endgame error and I picked up about 8 points which just pulled me to victory. I put comments up to move 241 where black loses it. Please help me improve!

Last comment was around move 190. There was constant fighting after the disastrous opening. Except for being cut on the left side, you definitely got the better of it. By the time you cut into his right side and played f3, the game was in your hands.

Good comeback!

Thanks for the review, a few different moves in the opening could have made this a much easier game for me I think. And the ladder to catch the left stones was very cool, I didn't see that at all. More practice :study:

The alternate line for move 205 does not work either: he can throw in at F1.

This is a known bug with the copy-paste method of displaying sgfs, when the sgf is too large. There's two ways to embed an sgf into the forum: you can either put the url of an sgf in sgf tags, or you can put the raw text of the sgf in sgf tags. With the second method, you can get this error if the sgf is too large. Thus, the first method is the preferred method.

If you want to save that SGF, click "Quote" on Bill's post, and copy the raw sgf text into any text editor on your computer and save.

with the extension .sgf .

Thx Dusk, it works. It is a bit clumsy, though. Maybe forum users will be so kind to upload their sgf files as explained here.

You shouldn't include the "
