Just now I played a 9x9 game against COSUMI, on level 5 of difficulty, the highest offered by the program. I would like for you to look at my tactical errors (and the very clever, yet irritating, responses by my opponent) so we can talk about them. Below is the SGF.
Lost by 16.5 points on quarter-size board.

The problem isn't the AI's responses, it is all you do is respond to your opponent. Try playing a few 9x9 games against it where you ignore its moves unless they threaten to kill something and you can't make more with a move elsewhere. You won't make much progress with the game if you don't break this habit.

Don't designate part of the board as yours and then try to protect it. You have a single group, but act like threatened, when you could push the opponent with his two weak groups around by building while threatening the life of his groups. Or as a major example here, don't let White play W12 when you had ample opportunity to play there yourself.

I think the problem starts at
. This move doesn't really affect white's group that much, but it also doesn't make it difficult for white to live on the left in any way. When white moves to live on the left, it's critical to leave the left in sente for the kosumi to be meaningful by following up on it. Once white has two stable groups, it's hard for black to overcome the komi.
