25x25 Go Boards?
Hi, I've recently been experimenting on OGS with the 25x25 boards. It's definitely a different experience than 19x19; it takes "all out war" to the next level as there are many, many fronts to fight on. I wouldn't say it's anywhere near as good as the standard 19x19 (seems to be the perfect size) but it is fun just to change things up and play a MUCH longer game from time to time. My question is, does anyone know of a place where I could purchase a 25x25 to play in person? I'm reluctant to make my own as I'm not too good at those sorts of projects.
Thinking like a go player during a game of chess is like bringing a knife to a gun-fight. Thinking like a chess player during a game of go feels like getting knifed while you're holding a gun...

Re: 25x25 Go Boards?
I would recommend drawing one out on a large sheet of paper. I suspect that the novelty will wear off long before the return on investment of such a board was recovered.
Still officially AGA 5d but I play so irregularly these days that I am probably only 3d or 4d over the board (but hopefully still 5d in terms of knowledge, theory and the ability to contribute).

Good point. I suppose I'll see how much of it I continue to play for a good while before contracting someone.DrStraw wrote:I would recommend drawing one out on a large sheet of paper. I suspect that the novelty will wear off long before the return on investment of such a board was recovered.

It would have been perfect symmetry to let it end that way, but you have to interrupt.jdl wrote:That's the first sentence of the thread.saxmaam wrote:OGS supports 25x25 board size
