score on ebay

Post by mhlepore »

I won some bowls and old slate/shell stones on eBay ($30! from Japan). Always wanted these type of super thin shell stones ever since playing with an 88 year old Japanese man who I became close friends with before he died - he had them, so just having them evokes nice memories of him.

(these photos are huge and can't see how to shrink them, so am hiding to make this screen less obnoxious)

Still officially AGA 5d but I play so irregularly these days that I am probably only 3d or 4d over the board (but hopefully still 5d in terms of knowledge, theory and the ability to contribute).

I just saved the files, resized them, and uploaded them. I used MS Picture Manager.

Hi mhlepore,

There are plenty of freeware basic JPEG editors available for Windows, OS X, iOS, and Android.

In all likelihood, they should all have the most basic functions: resize, crop, rotate. That's all I ever need or use for posting photos here anyway. :)

Thanks Ed. I have only posted a few photos here, and it seemed kind of random when they load as appropriately sized or not - was kind of hoping there was an internal feature here to compress the size. Guess not.

Hi mhlepore,

You're welcome. And no, not that I know of.

On Windows, I enjoy the freeware Irfanview for basic JPEG editing,
and MultiGo as my SGF editor/viewer.

Doesn't Picture manager come with windows? It has been on every system I have used.

A bit ott for simple resizing but I use the free (and very powerful) GIMP for almost anything image related.

Oh and congratulations on your new purchase and thanks for posting the photos, hope you enjoy using them. :)
