New Player Questions

Post by geneaber »

I am looking at buying a set from YMI. Have the following questions:

1. Looks like Yunzi stones are the place to start. Is that correct?
2. Are convex or double convex better for beginners? Or is it just a matter of preference?
3. Looks like the boards come in .8 and 2.0 thickness. What are the benefits of the 2.0 board, or just personal preference?

Thanks in advance!

Enjoy your new set! The advantage of single convex is they can be turned over for different variations for studying. The double convex definitely have a nice esthetic value.
