Thanks. All I could find was what looks like the official page, but doesn't show anything on schedule after Mid-January. Which doesn't suprise me much, mind you.xiayun wrote:The quarterfinals and semifinals will be in November.

I haven't been able to find it in the untranslated page, either.
Take care

Re: 25th LG cup
Okay... I'm trying to understand move 54...
That's the variant suggested in Yeonwoo Cho's video. And I like that it links the SW and NW groups while also facing the centre, I like that a lot. What I don't understand is why black doesn't push North for longer. White would still link with the northern wall, but it wouldn't get those 20-ish points it's getting right now.
Which means I'm missing something, likely something obvious. What?
Take care.

Re: 25th LG cup
In the variation, if
is at C11, then
at B8, so White makes many points in the corner, Black doesn't have a base and White can attack severely thanks to the wall C16. Black will not die but while White attacks, White will put many stones and control the center.

Re: 25th LG cup
57 at c11 is far from a terrible move, indeed the top 3 moves to consider in that position are b8 hane, c11 extend and c10 c12 jump.

Re: 25th LG cup
@jlt: Sure. But you're preventing White from getting... 5 points? If you manage to get those yourself, it's a 10 point difference, locally, in exchange for a center facing wall, pretty low (with holes, granted), and a pretty nice space between the 12th and 16th lines.
@Uberdude: c10 jump... do you mean c12?
As I see it, W54@D9 gets it the SW corner, a connection with the Northern wall, and center influence. Black can pick some details (reduce towards North or South? defects on the wall?), but that much's a given.
Take care.

Re: 25th LG cup
As Uberdude said,
at C11 is almost equally good, for us amateurs it doesn't make a difference.
In the variation showed by Yeonwoo, Black takes a few points from White, and White gets a wall facing the center.
If
at C11, then White keeps a larger corner and
* either Black takes a few points from White around B12 and White gets a wall facing the center
* or Black gets a weak group that White can attack for profit.
Difficult for us to judge which alternative is best.
