It happened to me twice in this thread that I posted in reply to a last post, and was not informed that a new post had been made in the meantime. This was a bit bothersome, because I ended up repeating what others had already said. Usually in this situation I get some kind of message to the effect of: there has been a new post in this thread, do you want to post anyway? Is this a bug, or am I missing something?

I don't recall that kind of message appearing when I've been in the same situation. However, I usually do a preview post a few times and check to see if anyone else has posted (the thread appears below the input area).

I have seen the "someone else posted while you were composing this" warning dozens of times if not more than that. I don't know if I've missed it recently.

you only get the warning if the post was posted while you were creating your message. If the post was posted while you were reading the thread you will not receive a warning.
