Tygem iPad and rank

Does anyone here know how ranks work with the Tygem iPad app? When I register an account, no matter what rank I enter, I seem to start of at 18k. (I created multiple accounts just to make sure I wasn't registering incorrectly) I didn't mind at first, as it gave me a chance to try out the app and understand how the game system works. I've played a good half dozen games, and my rank hasn't changed. I really feel bad slaughtering the DDKs there from an obviously mis-ranked account. Does anyone know the trick to getting things working?

I had the same issue. But half the 18ks seem as if they're really 10k, and another chunk of them actually seem stronger than me, so it's not too bad.

I resolved the issue by getting someone to help me create an account using the normal Tygem account creation mechanism. Hopefully the ipad registration issues will get resolved soon.

I also was rated 18kyu after logging in - despite setting a dan rank.

In order to preserve the same account name, use this solution.
go to http://www.tygembaduk.com. Sign in with ipad tygem account. go to Account. Delete account. Then re-register at http://www.tygembaduk.com. That account is immediately available on the tygem ipad with the correct rank.

If you register on tygembaduk.com the rank passes correctly to the ipad ap. It seems if you register on the tygem ipad you will be 18kyu, even though the correct rating is listed on tygembaduk.com.

Just play and it adjusts... I have stayed at 18k but on my 10th game I dropped to 3k. Don't know why and how.
