I do not know anything about user agents, so have not changed anything knowingly.
To my knowledge, nothing is messing with the HTML referrer.
I'm connecting from work, but do not believe that there is anything like what you describe active.

Does it happen on your home computer as well (assuming you connect from home)? Have you tried using web browsers other than IE8?

I'll check tonight. My biggest surprise is that it's shown up so suddenly. Regardless, at least it's not entirely blocking.

It's happened to me once on Firefox, but since I never saw it again, I never thought to report it.

It's not a real user agent string, most browsers have the Mozilla part. Anyway, I changed my user agent
and so far it's not happening again, but it's not been too long.
Also, in the past most of the time i didn't have any problem with these links, it seems like it just
redirected back to the real thing, but i'm not sure.

Well, he said "Mozilla/5.0 (compatible;)". EVERY web browser says they're "Mozilla/x.0 (compatible;)". Even most things that aren't actually web browsers say that. They're just usually more specific than that (i.e. they also say what they really are, and what the OS is, sometimes other useful information).
I'm just trying to narrow down what is different about the setups of those that have the problem and those that don't.
