Pro games are really great to look at for my personal entertainment, but I just don't feel like I can even get close to how they play.
This doesn't discourage me from looking at their game records anyway, but I don't want to ascribe any didactic value to it. I'm just staring in admiration that they move in ways I cannot explain, to achieve effects I don't fully recognize.
I've played this game for years, but any pro could probably beat me by playing purely from memory at blitz speed, while I take two minutes per move. There's such a chasm between their viewpoint and mine.
I guess that sort of admiration does serve a useful purpose, in that it inspires me to dig deeper in hopes of one day seeing what they see.
