Nice to see Iyama is no longer the only target of your affection.

She's a newly mint pro so on paper 1-dan, but most likely that will change soon.
It is hard to draw big conclusions from only one game, though.

Nakamura Sumire was doing "opening ball ceremony" for Tokyo Giants before a baseball match.

I also see her name in the M'Lily Cup World Championship qualifiers match at the end of this month. M'Lily Cup is the tournament in which Ryan Li beat Chen Yaoye a year ago. Sumire was in one of the Female's Group and in the first round she will play Wang Chenxing, who just became a mother and semi-finalist in the Go Seigen Cup. The draw may not be so good, but I believe it will be Sumire's first international appearance and good practice opportunity for the future.

Sumire has won her first pro game.
In the 2nd Wakatake (Young Bamboos) Cup, which is for players under 40 in the Nihon Ki-in's Osaka Branch (where she is based), she beat Tanemura Sayuri 2-dan in Round 1.
In Round 2 she lost to co-pupil Muramatsu Hiroki 6-dan despite having briefly reached a position where AI said she had a 90% winning rate.
(The games in this event don't count as official career games BTW.)
The biggest unresolved question is how, as an Osakan, she came to be given a special Tokyo Giants uniform (number 15) and not one from Hanshin Tigers. But at least her presence at the ball game, tossing out the first pitch, meant millions more Japanese will be reminded of go. And she proved to be a good-luck charm, too - the Giants won 5-1. (She's a rightie and doesn't throw like a girl!)

It appears Nakamura Sumire played another game against Hideyuki Sakai.

Looks like it's this one (from wbaduk broadcasts):
I didn't find much info about the game to crosscheck but should be correct.

Not related to Sumire per se but I noticed that I can't see many of the sgf posted on the forum these days, including those in this thread. Am I the only one?

Nakamura won a game against another 1p, I don't know any details:
This was an unofficial game in the Japanese National Go Team Study Group. She lost to Takao Shinji 9-dan in the same event.
Sumire is a new addition to the squad, along with Ueno Risa. They (like 18-year-old I Ryo) are in the trainee section. Takao is one of the coaches.
There are 19 men in a main squad, including the likes of Iyama, Cho U and Hane Naoki. There are five women, headed by Fujisawa Rina and Xie Yimin in a female squad. The mixed-gender trainee group now has 18 players serviced by six coaches. Takao is the Manager and Cho U the head coach. They are also in the main squad but not all the other coaches are.
They try to play or meet weekly.

Indeed I do. I put Lifein19x19 on its white list and that took care of it. Thanks!

Yawn. This is quickly getting rather boring. What's her favorite flavor of icecream? Does she prefer to go potty in the morning or at night? What's her blood type and favorite color?
OR maybe she should take a handicap of two or three stones against other professionals, just to make her games more competitive and this thread more interesting to follow.
Is it time to lock this thread, or has the contrived novelty not yet worn off?
Please don't take offense to my flippant sarcasm. Sumire is adorable, and we all can agree on that.
On a tangentially related topic, I wonder if Japan will do away with Insei league entirely. At this point, it might as well handout shodan certificates to winners of child pageants.

At move 100 she has 25% winrate according to LZ157. She may not be pro level yet, but her performance is not ridiculous. It is not absurd to hope that whe will become competitive in 2021 or so.
