The username stays with the posts even if the user is deleted. So deleting yourself does nothing in changing how you affect others. All it does is prevent you from resuming if you ever change your mind.

True, but it's pretty easy for her to have done that herself if she had wanted.

In case she forgot:
- User Control Panel -> Profile -> edit avatar -> delete image .

I tried to react on her "Creative writing" contribution but I failed to find the right words. Partly because of my low command of the english language and partly because I wanted to be honest but not too discouraging at the same time. I hope the lack of reactions didn't contribute to her leaving the forum.

There's rarely much sense in trying to penetrate another person's thought processes on why they have made a particular decision.

It's too bad she has left, but it's nobody's else's responsibility than her own. If we're lucky and wait a while, she might come back.
