As for myself I think I fall under the majority. I stress heavily on reading rather than theories and principles, so naturally I am less inclined to focus on the opening and exhaust my time and energy into the middlegame.

Re: Tournament - Time Management
I'm surprised no one put down A so far. While this doesn't apply for tournament games, one online player who had many fans a few years ago would invest VERY heavily timewise in the opening. He went by 'minue622' on KGS, hopefully some people will remember
.

Re: Tournament - Time Management
Okay, I take the spot.
I'm definitely A, which often leads to D, although I rarely play under 25 minutes these days. I have the bad habit of re-re-rechecking my readings and then I tend to try other moves all over the board aswell to ponder, which move I'm going to play.
This is especially hard in the opening with all its variations: Do I want to make a Moyo, emphasize a specific side, make a fighting game, ...

Re: Tournament - Time Management
I selected E, but more like a cross between B and E.
In the past decade, the tournaments here have moved towards 45 minutes per player without byoyomi, mainly to keep the event within one day. I haven't took part in proper tournaments for a couple of years already, but in my previous tournaments, I often don't use up more than 30 to 35 minutes of my own time.

Definitely E. I don't think I've ever gone into overtime during a tournament, although I do take time to think for several minutes on some moves. It's just that the rest of the time I tend to play so quickly that I never seem to run out of time. (And I do a lot of thinking on my opponent's time.)

Re: Tournament - Time Management
I'm E when I'm ahead or when I play a D, and D when I'm behind.
That which can be destroyed by the truth should be.

Re: Tournament - Time Management
I cannot see how I would match to any of these patterns. My observation at tournaments is that less than 1% of the matches of EGF-5k-and-weaker players enter the byoyomi phase. Being part of this group I wouldn't say that I am a quick player, even though I have never entered byoyomi yet in any of my 67 tournament games so far. However a few times I was only a few seconds away from it. Usually when I finish my game, the very most of the games up to 5k are already finished, sometimes even all (depends on whether my opponent is a slow player as well or not). Concerning the distribution of time between opening, middlegame and endgame I'd say that I am a rather balanced player, because I am weak at all parts of the game, so I need extensive pondering at all stages of the game...

Wow, really? I'm really surprised to hear that. In my small amount of experience, I enter byo-yomi more often than not. For some reason, I mostly get paired against people that are AGA 5k+, so it's hard to judge from my opponents. I guess I'd say that one in three of my opponents made it to byo-yomi.
Someday I want to be strong enough to earn KGS[-].
