I'm pretty thin on top, but it's really awkward to defend directly, and in addition he would get to play at :w2: below, which would expand his territory and make my group come under pressure.

Kaya.gs is your best bet. They seem to be willing to try all sorts of things, and are aiming to have fairly open development. It's possible that someone who was interested could implement it. But it still might be a slim chance.
