BTW, are "real" or KGS ranks used for determining the starting round? (I have two accounts on KGS, one for fast games and one for normal speed. The first one is currently 8k, the second is 7k. IRL my rank is 8k)

You'll be entered at whatever you want to be really. Pick what seems to fit how you think you'll play in 40 minute-ish time controls on KGS.

I'm around 1d on KGS, MESZ (UTC +2)
Hopefully there'll be a solution regarding the scheduling problem with US - EU (any experiences?).
