The message I got was this (emphasis for user code added by me):
The code for the user seems NOT to have been unique for the user viewing the page since it is the same code that Robert Jasiek also posted in rec.games.go.General Error

I thought that had gone the way of the dinosaurs.
Still officially AGA 5d but I play so irregularly these days that I am probably only 3d or 4d over the board (but hopefully still 5d in terms of knowledge, theory and the ability to contribute).

It's not a user ID. The error message is related to the connection to the hosting service.EdLee wrote:Tom! That particular user ID could be the culprit...

The group is alive, too, although there’s one antisemitic dingbat who is abusing it by spamming political rants (mostly HUGE copy/pastes from KGS chat), and the admins don't seem to care, because, you know, “free speech”.
