In any way I congratulate you for ShinKGS. It's simple-stylish and let's you play Go instead of gettin confused with 345 options. Meanwhile I like it even better than CGoban3. I hope AGA tries to put effort into ShinKGS because it's more platform-friendly than the client. I still believe KGS has a future.

Is the GoUniverse extension for Chrome (Windows) still maintained?

I like it a lot, but I do not get any stone sound (although 'Sound' is ticked in the settings). There is sound (the bell ring) when I accept a game invitation, but not for stones ...

Same for me: Playing a stone makes no sound. I appreciate this chrome extension very much, it's a great jgs client! A pitty, that such bugs are not fixed.

Remember when CGoban had no sound because of a new Java version? How long did it take until it got fixed? Felt like forever ...

Please, please, please bring back the sound ...
Are there some technical problems with repairing it?
And also: am I the only one really missing it?

I'm sorry this is taking so long. I'll try to release fixed version this weekend.

Is it by design, that I do not get stone sound when I watch games, only when I play games myself?

Currently, yes. In general, i can add such option for watching games too.

Just played my first game with GoUniverse after stone sound is back and lost it on time.
I was trying to click my move, but it was just not accepting the click. Tried to click for around 5 seconds, but it would just show the shadow of my stone and not place it.
I remember that I once had this problem with GoUniverse in the past and at that time I restarted Chrome.
Did anyone experience that also?
It might just be a KGS lag issue, not sure ...

To be sure if is it KGS lag or not, next time try to request anyone info or try to write something in the chat. If everything is ok, but you still can't place a stone, then try to close the gameroom with your match and reconnect to it. Also press F12 and if you will see any errors in the log pm me here or on github (in any case if something is going wrong press f12 and check for errors). Thanks in advance.

I've played a few quick games with bots with the new version of GoU and everything was fine.

I thought to give GoUniverse a try and installed the Chrome extension, but then ... what's supposed to happen? There's no extension icon showing up at the top right and I have no way to access any new KGS interface via Chrome or going to gokgs.com. How do I even start up this client?

GoUniverse extension has a very subtle icon which should show up on the right of the browser's address bar. Maybe you overlooked it? It definitely happend to me before as well It should definitely show up there and if you click on it, you are forwarded to the login page.
