Has anybody some more results...?
Life in 19x19. Go, Weiqi, Baduk... Thats the life.

There's more info and discussion and link to game at https://www.reddit.com/r/baduk/comments ... iminaries/. As I understand the tournament is played with sudden death, human operators relaying the bot's moves on a board, and chinese rules. A recipe for problems. If it's true that the Yike operator ignored the Yike bot's instruction to play a move to pass instead because they wanted to finish the game as running low on time that's a worse infringement IMO than baduki playing moves in a lost late endgame position under Chinese rules and sudden death. Indeed entering GnuGo at 1 second a move in such a competition would be a good baseline to ensure people don't devote all their effort to playing strength and none to time management and game end conditions.macelee wrote: The AI tournament:
Golaxy and Baduki are in the final. There was a big dispute in a preliminary round as Baduki lost heavily to YXT (trained by Yikeweiqi) but allegedly kept playing to force its opponent to lose by time.
Thanks a lot, macelee! It had to be expected that Europe would be eliminated in round 1, but I'm sad to see, that Japan is also already eliminated. I had some hopes for them since there has been a very positive development in the Japanese women scene recently. Maybe they just need a bit more time.macelee wrote:qualifier:
Ariane Ougier bt. Rita Pocsai
Feng Yun bt. Dina Burdakova
Yin Mingming (Stephanie) bt. Li Chenshuo (Cathy)
Natalia Kovaleva bt. Su Geping
round 1:
Lu Minquan bt. Feng Yun
Oh Yujin bt. Yin Mingming
Kim Hyeoimin bt. Natalia Kovaleva
Yang Zixuan bt. Ariane Ougier
Cho Seungah bt. Yu Lijun
Gao Xing bt. Xie Yimin
Li He bt. Nyu Eiko
Wang Shuang bt. Mannami Nao
They are part of a big event, together with a round of Chinese A league, and some human-AI exhibition games (possible Golaxy giving 2 stones to some top female players), and other activities involving fans. In my opinion this is very good format for promoting Go.Ember wrote: And I would also prefer a seperate thread for the AI tournament. It's got nothing to do with the Women World Championship - I don't get why they held it at the same time and place anyway.
All 4 semifinalists took 2 stones and lost. I believe without komi.Uberdude wrote:Quarter finals:
Choi Jeong beat Gao Xing
Rui Naiwei beat Ueno Asami
Li He beat Wang Shuang by 0.5
Wang Chenxing beat Oh Yujin
Also Golaxy beat Rui Naiwei on 2 stones (dunno if komi).
Ah, that explains the very strange early exchange - move 19 should have been one point to the right, given that white can break the ladder with the next move! I only wrote the beginning of the game here, they played for 100+ moves before black resigned.Mapleleaf wrote:It was said Choi Jeong was sick so she didn't play, a young player Cho Seungah played instead. But she read the ladder incorrectly from the very beginning... Li He and Wang Chenxing played to the end and both lost 1 point.
And congrats Rui Naiwai on being back to the Semi-Finals- she lost to Ueno Asami last year in the same tournament but she made it this time.
Hm, ok, but in that case, the thread title is a bit misleading because I wouldn't look for an AI tournament here.macelee wrote:They are part of a big event, together with a round of Chinese A league, and some human-AI exhibition games (possible Golaxy giving 2 stones to some top female players), and other activities involving fans.
