Shin Jinseo is having a good december. His team won the Chinese League A (he won both his games in the final). And he defeated Shin Minjun 2-1 in KBS final. As a result, his rating got very close to 3700 again (it's at 3696).

Shin Jinseo has 12 wins in a row and reached the highest gorating I have ever seen: 2712 (seen on Jan 31, 2020).
Park Junghwan has 11 wins in a row (two against Ke Jie) and he's reached his highest rank ever, too: 2703.
But there are 3 other players with ratings significantly greater than 3600. So there is some ratings inflation.
Ratings for #100:
24 Jan 2020: Piao Wenyao (3341)
13 July 2019: Murakawa Daisuke (3335)
14 June 2018: Chen Xian (3326)
10 June 2017: Shibano Toramaru (3311)
13 July 2016: Ichiriki Ryo (3299)

well, not 2728 but 3728 (Silviu dont you study live2700 to often?

), next are Park Junghwan, Ke Jie and Yang Dixin at 3666, 3663 and 3634 repectively (62, 65 and 94 points advantage). Then goes peleton, all below 3600.
Silviu, but if i correctly understand WHR rating system (i might be wrong, just looked at formulas shortly), it is retroactive, so if this rating of 3728 will be adjusted, then it means that system thinks it gave Shin this rating incorrectly and adjustation was needed. Ofc this WHR rating is not perfect (cant be), and its weakness is that it does not take into consideration that player might improve. I guess thats why you note this records right?
According to goratings.org Shin is at 18 wins streak, pretty impressive! One more and he will be level with great Honinbo Shusaku!

Yes, sorry, his rating was 3728 last week, not 2728

. This week Shin won 2 more games and his ranking went up to 3733. AloneAgainstAll: yes, WHR will retroactively change rankings, which is why I keep track of them. Should Shin Jinseo lose 2-3 games in a row, the algorithm will go back and change Shin's past rankings. So it might then say Shin Jinseo never got above 3710 or 3700. I post the updates here so they don't get lost. I also save the page on my computer.
According to go4go, Shin Jinseo won 21 games in a row, last loss was on Nov 25, 2019 vs Yang Dingxin in Nongshin cup. I think Ke Jie got a 20-something game winning streak a few years ago, but I wasn't watching this too closely back then, so I don't really know how many they were or what was Ke Jie's top ranking when this happened. I don't know how a 21-game winning streak stacks against records from other players.
In any case, Shin Jinseo's LG cup win was pretty impressive, since he defeated Mi Yuting, Ke Jie and Park Junghwan to win the title (players ranked 2-4 in the world). I believe that might cure him of the inferiority complex vs these two players.

22th win in a row for Shin Jinseo pumped up his WHR rating to 3736!
Also i have no idea how i could miss Mi Yuting in rating chart, so now top5 looks like it:
1. Shin Jinseo 3736
2. Ke Jie 3664
3. Park Junghwan 3662
4. Mi Yuting 3653
5. Yang Dingxin 3635 ( 101 points less than leader!), after that goes peleton of players below 3600.

Still hard for me to take Shin Jinseo seriously - he doesn't have the same feeling to me as someone like Lee Sedol or Ke Jie does. Maybe it's because Lee Sedol is closer to my age or something.
I guess if Shin Jinseo keeps it up, I should reassess.

This might be the most off-beam thing I've ever read on this forum. I tactfully and gently suggest you might want to question your own judgement and seat of authority.

I have no authority- except over who I’m personally a fan of. Maybe my wording was bad. He’s an awesomely strong player, just like other pros. He just hasn’t hit the same category as eg. Lee Sedol in my mind, even if he has great ratings...
I sincerely mean no offense by this - just a feeling I have. Obviously, it’s only my opinion.
Maybe it’s similar to saying that I’m more of a Michael Jordan fan than a LeBron James fan - no offense made to LeBron. He’s awesome at basketball.

Shin jinseo won 25 games in a row, he did same than his previous record. Unfortunately with the virus these days he is playing only korean players so we cannot say he has the best opponent all the time but we can count 2 wins in a row against Park jungwhan in the LG cup final ( he still has a bad record against him). But anyway 25 wins in a row it is incredible!!!

And 27 wins in a row, I believe the best win in a row is lee changho with 41^^ dear badukdoctor, I am a big fan of Lee changho so hope to see wonderful endgame moves from him. The game against ma xiaochun was wonderful.
