Only Piao Wenyao has previously won an international title (and only 1, so I wouldn't call him a big favourite), so it looks quite likely we could have a new international title winner.

I'm rooting for Hu Yaoyu, he seems to have fallen out of the spotlight after losing to Zhou Junxun in the finals of the LG Cup 6 years ago. It would be great to see him finally get a world title.

he didnt even make the playoff.
i think the number of strong players have increased and hu yaoyu lost his only chance 6 years ago.

I think you confuse the BC card cup with the LG cup. Hu Yaoyu is actually in the semi finals of the former, see above.
Actually it is only one of the competitors in the semi's of the BC card cup, Dang Yifei, that has managed to qualify for the LG cup through the preliminaries. Both Hu Yaoyu and his competitor in the semi, Baek Hongsuk, lost early in the preliminaries, while Piao Wenyao is seeded for the main tournament.

Baek Hongseok defeated Hu Yaoyu by resign.
Strange game. Hu was leading well into almost end game and neglected right corner and got killed.
Maybe he thought it can be connected to b's right side group by threatening to kill w's middle group. He was short on time also.

I watched Game 3 on Baduk-TV Live. It was exciting and complex. When Dang resigned, his eyes filled with tears,
he helped tidy up the board and then left quickly without a post-mortem. Guess we all know how he felt.
