Only if you are using "subsilver2" -style. With "lifein19x19"-style I can not find it anywhere.HermanHiddema wrote: Over there.....

This is a known issue and I doubt it will get fixed... it's been a few years. The only real solution is to switch back to the other theme.tj86430 wrote:Only if you are using "subsilver2" -style. With "lifein19x19"-style I can not find it anywhere.HermanHiddema wrote: Over there.....

Thanks for posting the interview, HermanHiddema. It is nice to see a European player making it to professional status. Egoistically, I hope this means he'll start bloggin again
Does anyone know when Antti will start playing as a pro? April, as in HnG?

A celebration dinner with the Nihon Kiin English Club who Antti has been helping out. From Ohashi Hirofumi's blog...

And Ai passes. Interesting because at one point, it seemed quite open until the very last game.

I had looked through some of the previous years in the insei ranking table, and found it quite interesting seeing the pros and top ranking insei today when they were lower in the leagues (I didn't know some of the professionals were young).

Re: Antti Makes it to A class
Just in case it may be of any interest, the nihonkiin website reported a small while ago that Antti Törmanen played his first pro game in the Okage Cup (not a main official tournament, however) against Kibe Natsuki 1p. Unless, memory fails me, I think his opponent in the shin-shodan matches was Yamada Takuji 8p(?). And currently, I think he's just finished participating in a mixed professional-amature tournament.
Okage Cup tournament sheet:
http://www.nihonkiin.or.jp/match/okage/007.html
(For those who may beeagerly awaiting wondering when more preliminary matches for the major tournamenta occur, I would tell them to wait at least a good 4-7 months, according to this schedule chart (and even when that time comes, keep in mind that he passed by scoring over 50% (Special Foreign Adoption)* in the pro exam, so it may (or may be my cynical gears at their bad works) a moment of feet finding required before expecting irrationally spectacular results in, for example, next week, or the like))

*So it seems highly reasonable, according to his position in the B claass, and the fact that an A class insei will become professional this summer, to suggest Nikola Mitic can become professional this winter assuming he stays until the next exam (seems a push)?

Re: Antti Makes it to A class
I forgot to mention last month that Antti Törmanen had obtained his first win (in what was technically his first official "pro tournament" match?) against Ogawa Tomoko 6p in the first round of the C, B preliminaries of the 56th Juudan, on the 28th of July.

I expect the C, B preliminaries for the Honinbo to start soon

FYI Ogawa Tomoko is a female 6 dan born 1951 who co-authored 'The Endgame' book with James Davies. http://senseis.xmp.net/?OgawaTomoko
