Doesn't matter. If all you do is study and never play...?
Stones on the board. That is automatically a "better" Go then not playing.
Learn by doing. No plan survives its encounter with the enemy. and so on...

Once I had the great opportunity to watch a 9d friend play a few 3d and 4d players on a RL board, and I had NO words. Not even one.

I just went … :-o

If I had to verbalize that, it would be “wow”.
