Yea, this thread should have variables for ages, instead of fixed numbers. :-)

Well, I'm 21 (have been for awhile) now but I wish I was a lot younger. I'm starting to realize that all those years of wishing I was an adult were pure idiocy. Being a child is so much easier. Life gets so complicated after you hit adulthood.

Oh well.

30's is better than 20's - less angst. 30's beats childhood too -> no school & more money (IMO)

edit: I'm 32 and am currently working on my one-arm pushups

I dunno. As a kid, no bills. No need to worry about groceries. No need to worry about complicated relationships, for the most part. If the worst thing I had to worry about was a math test, my life would be a lot better. That's just my opinion, though! :D

I completely agree. Life becomes more complicated as you age.

sounds like you had a nice time at school - no bullying, no stress about the opposite sex, plenty of pocket money for fashionable clothes, good for you. This isn't the case for everyone - worst time of my life so far.

as for complications I guess it's all relative. Maybe I'm just better at dealing with all that stuff now (or maybe my wife does it for me :D )

You obviously are a lot better at dealing with things. ( A wife is the most complicated issue that you will encounter in your life. :D )

No, actually, elementary school and middle school were terrible for me. I was sort of an outcast in school because of how shy and quiet in real life I am. I was definitely bullied. I had some stress about the opposite sex, but I didn't let it keep me awake at night.

I went through my whole first year of middle school with brilliantly bloodshot eyes. Like scarlet red. I'd had eye surgery the summer before to strengthen my right eye which was weakened by a fall down a flight of stairs when I was one year old (had surgery when I was a kid, but it failed). Not a lot of middle school kids can understand something like that, though.

So yeah, school life was a royal pain in the butt for me. However, I would gladly take that over having debt (which doesn't sound like a lot until you factor in me being unemployed) and not knowing what tomorrow will bring. At least while you're in public school you KNOW what you're going to be doing each week.

That's just my experience, though.

Hi, 33 here, and after 6(?) years of playing still far far away from achieving a dan but still enjoys the game :)

I'm glad not to be the eighteen year old I was, and I'm really really really glad to not be the fifteen year old I was, but in objective terms, life is harder and more stressful now. Subjectively, it might have been worse then, but only because my mind made it that way.

I was lucky to go to a magnet school full of nerds. A decent percentage of our "cool kids" would have been nerds elsewhere. I was still pretty nerdy and socially awkward, and spent some time feeling isolated, but there just wasn't the kind of bullying you see in many schools.

I'll second that. I don't have a wife, but I've had my fair share of girl problems.

43. My best years was when I was 20-25: Still naïve enough to only think of possibilities and not problems, but old enough to be able to do anything I wanted without my parents stopping me (within economical, physical, and [mostly] legal laws).

Edit: Um, and well, I feel like I'm back in my twenties less and less often, maybe it's a 50% split of feeling 20-something and feeling my physical age.
