So who should the sponsor wildcard be used on? Has it been decided? I would like to see Gu Li (lost in the prelim final) in there.

I wonder if the sponsors, being Korean, will pick a Korean seeing as they didn't get so many players this time. I recall Lee Changho was picked as the wildcard a few years ago (not sure if it was LG or some other international tournament with a similar wildcard process), presumably because he remained popular with Korean baduk fans and had been in quite a few finals recently. Perhaps now he is too far from being a top player.

And then somehow the rigging will happen to match him against Lee Sedol again...

Since the goal of the sponsor is to get as much public exposure as possible, I'll bet the wildcard will go to a player who will attract the largest number of fans to follow the tournament. (Gu Li?) I doubt that some "old-timer" would be chosen since such a player, though popular with fans, is likely to be eliminated quickly.
