Cho Chikun wins his first Kisei league match

Cho Chikun won his game against Yuki Satoshi B+R. I think it is great two Old timers like Cho and Yoda still/again competing in the top tournament leagues in japan.
I hope Cho will win some more games or perhaps the whole league
What you think, does Cho has a chance of winning one of the big seven, ever again?

Old timer? Satoshi was born in 1972. He is so new to me I had to look him up!

That was a great game. If he plays like this throughout the tournament I don't see how he wouldn't have a shot.
Cho obviously has far more game experience than most - most professionals, most amateurs, most people. His 40 years in the go world have only proven his strength, not lessened it. It is true that he is reaching the end of his career. His last major titles were won 7 years ago - the 2007 Judan and NHK Cups. The last time he was runner up in a major tournament, however, was just two years ago in the 2012 NEC Cup. He's not done with go yet.
I don't think any player, no matter how strong, would ever go into a match against Cho Chikun and think lightly of him. He isn't an Honorary Meijin for nothing.

Why did white resign here? Is it because black has a lot more territory or because the white group in the middle can't live?

From my count black is ahead in territory and, on top of that, will gain a bit more as white struggles to live. There are no points for white to be gained in the center - he will only fall farther behind as he defends his group.
