Corner confusion

(This is an in-progress correspondence game, but I have already played on, so I don't feel like I am cheating by asking what the right thing would have been.)
Up until :w10: I was feeling fine. Then it seemed like my opponent bailed on the corner by jumping out with :b11: and I was left feeling very ambivalent, and maybe like I'd been tricked.

My first thought was tenuki, and looking back I think maybe that was the right thing (it's not what I did).

My second thought was, take the corner immediately (also not what I did).

My instincts are clearly not very good when people give me mixed messages :P

d14 is my first feeling (what you'd do if he jumped without 3-3 first). Maybe 3-3 will end up stupid, maybe not. But white is fine.

Yeah, that seems nice and flexible. Sadly, not what I did either :D

Thank you!
